DATES

Please can we all, where ever possible, add dates to the Fact and Events. If exact dates are unknown then use any of the codes BEF (before), ABT (about), EST (estimate) prefixes that can be used.

For example:
For early births we find it is common to have only a baptism record, but no actual birth date. So if the baptism is “10 MAR 1756” then enter the birth date as “BEF 10 MAR 1756”.

If your parent were born say in 1950 then you can estimate that your grandparents we born around 1925 so enter EST 1925 and their marriage could be ABT 1949

This is very important because dates are used to order records and improves processing speed for us all.
